Ocean's Thirteen (2007) Synopsis:

Still as yet very little is known about the plot. It is thought that Al Pacino is the bad guy though!

Ocean's Thirteen (2007) DVD Review:

In OCEANS’S 13, Danny Ocean (George Clooney), and Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) get the gang back together to help avenge Reuben Tishkoff”s (Elliot Gould) misfortune, after being swindled by the smarmy Willie Bank (Al Pacino). Reuben suffers a heart attack after he is strong-armed by Bank to hand over his 50% holdings in Las Vegas’ newest casino. Danny tries to reason with Willie Bank, only to be laughed at, so he decides on Plan B, to orchestrate the financial ruin of Bank. Together, Danny and Rusty begin to devise their plan to infiltrate and outsmart the new Bank Casino and its near impenetrable security forces. They enlist the help of their original crew, including Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac and Carl Reiner among others, to become cogs in the machine of their scheme. However they run into a major road block when they discover that Bank is employing a whole new security device called the “Greco,” a server that quickly breaks down the response of gaming winners as either a genuine reaction or a planned win. The team calls in the big guns with Roman Nagel (Eddie Izzard) and even the help of former opponent Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia).

Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney pair up once again for the third and reportedly final film in the OCEAN’S 11 franchise. Despite an overwhelming desire to dislike OCEANS’S 13, the film is remarkably fun, complex, and light-hearted. Rather than conning and stealing for the sake of personal gain, this time the team schemes to financially destroy Willie Bank, the man who single-handedly swindled their friend Reuben. Bank is an egomaniacal businessman who has a history of stealing from his partners, strong-arming them out of partnerships for his own personal gain. Bank is already writing his victory speech for his newest venture, the illustrious Bank Casino, but he has scorned Danny Ocean and crew, and he has no idea the hell he is about to pay. George and Brad once again bounce their well-timed banter back and forth as they discuss the best way to swindle Willie Bank out of $500 million in 3.5 minutes, as well as Bank’s chances at winning the illustrious “5 Diamond” award. Bank has previously won this award for every hotel he owns. The supporting stars are also just as fun, be it the arguing Malloy brothers, the over-dramatic demolitions expert Basher, or the easily distracted Saul Bloom. The only noticeable absence from the film’s cast was that of Julia Roberts and the expected absence of Catherine Zeta-Jones. Zeta-Jones, it was announced, would not be reprising her role as Isabel Lahiri, as an alleged result of the publicized indifference between husband Michael Douglas and Brad Pitt regarding Pitt’s divorce and relationship with Angelina Jolie.

The plot line of OCEAN’S 13 is incredibly complex, more so than OCEAN’S 11 or 12, but it is just as fun. Among their many shenanigans, Danny and crew arrange a workers strike in Mexico, rig several casino games including roulette and craps, and torment an unwitting hotel critic to earn the hotel a negative review.

Special Features include, a featurette, Vegas: An Opulent Illusion, a documentary on the Vegas Strip, peppered with clips from the film. A second featurette, Jerry Weintraub Walk and Talk, follows producer Jerry Weintraub as he gives a brief tour of the set of Bank Casino, and Additional Scenes.

OCEAN’S 13 is presented in Widescreen and in 5.1 Surround Sound.
