Headline: Madsen joins Swank/Gere in Amelia!

Virgina Madsen has signed on to co-star alongside Hilary Swank and Richard Gere in Amelia.

The flick will tell the story of Amelia Earhart, the famous aviator. The movie will focus on the rocky relationship between the famed aviator (Swank) and publisher-promoter George Putnam (Gere), whom Earhart eventually married. Madsen will play Dorothy Binney, Putnam's first wife.

Mira Nair is directing based on a screenplay by Ron Bass for Fox Searchlight.
